Kota

From Jaipur, Sankalp drove me and his mom to Kota - that's 240 km and at least 2-3 speed breakers per kilometer. It took us some time to reach.

In Kota, first Sankalp's uncle showed us the way on a scooter, then his aunt with the car. At the house, we also met Dimpi, Sankalp's cousin. The rest of the day we enjoyed doing nothing, eating some French fries at McDo and watching several TV shows like "India's got talent", "Lil Masters" and "Indian Idol".

Next morning, Kittu joined us by train from Delhi and Sankalp and his Mom left for Jaipur again. Dimpi and me spent the afternoon at the beauty parlor - got my hair straight, massage and pedicure. As we missed to buy the cinema tickets earlier, we spent the evening in front of the TV.

My last day in Kota was dedicated to sightseeing, so Kittu, her dad and me left in the morning to go around the city. First we started at Shaar Baagh Ki Chatriyam - there are several temples in the midst of trees with elephants guarding them.

Then we continued our tour crossing the Chambal River and headed outside the city for the Abheda Mahal, a palace of the maharaja at a lake with a lot of lotus flowers.

Then we moved to the other side of the lake for a visit to the Karni Mata's Temple, before heading to Kota Barage - a big water reservoir which gates open when it heavily rains. There we fed the pigeons.

Just a short distance away, we visited the Garh Palace. The museum contained several small collections and then we got some special treatment and were shown to the rooms upstairs which belonged to different maharajas and which were all nicely painted. The view from the top was great.

From there, we returned to the water at Mauji Babu Ki Gufah - that's a nice place to hang out - only the view is not my liking (directly onto a power plant at the opposite riverbank).
We finished the tour with a trip to Shivpuri Dhaam - 101 shivlings are here and the people constantly pour water over them.

In the afternoon, we went to a movie - AISHA - about a girl who wants to play cupid but did not quite succeed and nearly missing her own love of her life. As it was a Bollywood movie, it ended just fine:).

The Agrawal Family: Dad, Dimpi, Kittu & Mum

Now it's time to get ready for the next stops on the trip and a little relation to my work - I will visit MAN Force Trucks in PITHAMPUR (near Indore) and PUNE.
