Redecoration - pimp my room

Last weekend, I spent a lot of time in my room - not relaxing, sleeping, watching TV or so.
No, I worked on redecorating it and here the results from "pimp my room":

My entrance door is now featuring all the postcards you sent me in the last years. You see there is still some place on the outside and the whole inside - so keep on writing me cards:-).

My bed - nothing changed here - I just like the bed cover I got from Jodhpur really much.

The BOOK Shelves -

one masterpiece created by Victor and me in less than 7 hours.

I have been looking for book shelves for this wall ever since we move into this house, either the color was wrong, the height or the depths. I asked two carpenters to make me an offer, they were above any limits. Then a friend made a suggestion to build it from bricks and wood - this idea got spoiled by another friend's friend saying it would get to heavy. By then I was really eager to built it myself, so I stopped by a DIY superstore and bought the wooden boards, Victor got his drill machine and we got it done!

Second Masterpiece - my new curtains.

When I was in Jaipur, I ordered them in a Saree shop with the help of Sankalp's dad. After some weeks they got delivered to my home and took them to be sewed for hang up. Another odyssey followed to find the right hooks to hang them up. I visited more than 6 stores, bought 3 or 4 packs of different hooks until finally I could hang them up around the blue glass lamplight I bought on the Grand Bazar in Istanbul.

Last but not least, I gave myself this bench for birthday.
For luck some friends were so kind to assemble as the instructions did not match the pieces. Then I painted it so it looks like wood from a nut-tree and decorated it with blue flower ornaments.

So now having done all this, I will be sitting on my bench on my balcony enjoying my free time reading a book that I can place afterwards in my fantastic book shelf.

A perfect world.
