Guanajuato

An hour drive from Dolores Hidalgo we made ourselves comfortable in the Hotel Camino Real in Guanajuato.

Hotel Camino Real

After a refreshing dip in the hotel pool, we drove the short distance to the city centre through the cave tunnels that were left from silver mining and have been enlarged to allow for todays traffic. The state government invited us to a speech and cocktail in the Teatro Juarez that was finished in 1903.

Then we were picked up by a music band in tradional costume that roamed with us the cobblestone streets for the so called Callejoneada playing, singing and walking. We also got something to drink in a special vessel.

We passed by most of the sights and places like Jardin de la Union, Plaza de la Paz, Universidad and Casa de Beso. Then we split up to either go back to the hotel or continue dancing in a club.
