Ahrweiler

I visited my aunt and uncle for a day in the wonderful scenery of wine yards and small German towns.

Saturday morning, we drove to Ahrweiler and strolled within the old walls of the city. The wall encompassing the centre was completely preserved and gates opened in every direction.

Inside there were old houses built in fram-work style, decorated with a lot of paintings and old guild signs on the walls.

The region is known for its wine yards, so there are several vineries where you can try and buy wine. Here we looked in the courtyard of one:

There was much more to see but my train already left in the afternoon, so I saved this for the next time.
