We passed by vast areas of land, one strip of forest was only empty tree trunks destructed by the pine beetles.
On the more than 400 km drive we encountered a lot of trucks - timber trucks, car trucks, tractors and many overloads. The roads were very dirty and so was getting our car.
After some time, the weather clouded in and everything was covered in fog. In Clearwater, we stopped for some grocery shopping. We did not see much of the city, but the towns always seem to be much smaller in reality than on the map.
Further down road we stopped for lunch at a grill in Blue River. The serving was big and so was the price.
Despite the uncoutable animal signs, we only saw cattle, horses and goats.
Before changing to the Highway to Jasper, we filled up the tank again as Canadians warned us that fuel might be much more expensive up in the mountains. Already in Valemount it was 12 cents up to the price in Kamloops.
While we were driving on the highway to Jasper, we crossed two borders - one geographical between British Columbia & Alberta and a time border from Pacific Standard Time to Mountain Standard Time - pratically we lost an hour and arrived at 6:30 in Jasper.
