Pentecost in Leipzig: a wedding, Wave Gothic and running

This weekend, I came back to Leipzig for the wedding of Steffen and Becki. She was dressed in a lovely white dress and he wore a suit (what else).

As Steffen was quite some time in AIESEC and Becki supported him, we tested their knowledge and skills a bit.

After an awesome dinner we rocked the dancefloor and it was great to meet so many old friends.

On Sunday, I met Peter - an old friend who did a traineeship in Leipzig some years ago and who took the pictures below. We ate in a cafe at the market square and then wandered a bit through the city centre.

At the same weekend, it was also the Black clothed people's festival known as the Wave Gothic Meeting which featured as usual a range of interesting people:
- Baroque style
- SM style
- Black clothes

Also they were showing off all kinds of tattoos, independent hairstyles and accessoires.

Living in friend's flat in Markkleeberg, I took the chance and went twice running: once on the river Pleiße and on Sunday in the Auwald (green forest). Both times, I succeeded in doing 6.1 km - the distance for the business run in July.

Kofel - my first mountain this year

Early morning, my friends picked me up and we headed to the motorway. Within an hour we reached Oberammergau and the German Alps.

Mount Kofel is towering the little alpine village that is world famous for the Passion Play (every 10 years, next time in 2020).

We parked the car, took our daypacks and headed for the top. The narrow and steep path lead through a lovely green forest. I sweated like hell and for sure I need more training. After more than an hour we reached the timberline.

From there we had to climb and hold on to a tightrope to not fall down. So after another 20 minutes we were on top.

We enjoyed our lunch and the view, wrote in the summit book and took some pictures of the scenery.

Downhill we took another path through green forest and over several brooks.

Back in the valley, we treated ourselves to some delicious ice-cream and fruits.
