Our yearly skiing trip brought us back to Livigno and the Valtellina. The first day in Livigno was very windy and stormy. We also did some involuntary uphill ski tour, when one of the chairlifts was out of order and just started functioning again when we reached the top. In the afternoon, we moved on to Bormio.
There we had rented a nice three-room flat with two bathrooms near the city centre and with a view on the surrounding mountains. The mountrains called us very early in the morning, so we were the first people uphill and the first to cover the distance to the valley.
The first people to move uphill!
and the first to ski downhill
or snowboard.
The last straight part of the slope is only meant for experts. Especially, the hill after this signboard - our name for it: "Hill of Death".
Next to the finish was the kids' hill and as we are still kids at hearts, we grabbed a rubber doughnut, jumped on it and slided downhill.
For lunch, we went to the best hillside pizzeria there is above 2000 meters: La Rocca. Afterwards, we chilled some more time out in the sun with a cappucino.
The other days, we spent in Isolaccia and Santa Caterina Valfurva.

Victor faster:-)
Unfortunately, on the fifth day I fell on 3000 meters and twisted my knee. The next thousand vertical meters took me very long as I could only ski left curves and go backwards, but no right curves. Inka brought me to the hospitals of Bormio and Sondalo and my knee got x-rayed. Then I nearly waited an hour in the plaster cast room, fearing they would plaster my leg before I could say a word. In the end, my bones were okay and I got a bandage. (Now I know, my cruciate is torn and will take some time and a surgery to recover.)
The final days, I spent on the couch reading books and watching movies on my laptop. On the trip back, I walked around Livigno and could enjoy the ice figure gallery.
