600 miles on the left - driving through England

I went to England for the long Whit weekend. After some delays due to the vacation traffic in Munich and London Heathrow, I picked up my rental car at Inter Rent (a bit off from the airport, shuttle on call).

So there I was with a right-hand drive car and driving on the left. So I faced the main challenges:
  • changing gears with my left hand
  • driving on the other side of the road
  • totally lost the sense of dimensions of the car
The last thing was so bad, I could not get out of the rental company parking lot forward, but maneuvered the car backwards out of the lot. I don't know why but it was easier.

2.5 hours later I arrived in West Malvern where I met my first ever penal - Lorna. We started writing each other when I had barely learnt how to write after the first week in elementary school. It's only the second time we meet - the last time we saw each other was nearly two decades ago at Lake Constance. Lorna had some funny pictures of our younger selves.

Malvern Hills

On Saturday, we walked from the cottage around the Malvern Hills and later went to small museum in Great Malvern. After lunch in a pub, I said farewell and headed south to Cornwall.

My friend Alla was visiting her in-laws with her husband and kids and invited me for the weekend.
